General Policies
All of the following policies are guidelines for all operations. While there may be circumstances where the policies are in conflict with the immediate needs of an emergency, one should exercise great caution before violating any of these policies. If circumstances do warrant violating a policy, one should make every effort to consult with his/her supervisor beforehand.
While any policy cannot address every situation, one must consider the intent of the policy, rather than the absolute language of the policy. It is the intent that must be followed. If one should encounter indecision about the intent of a policy and how it may apply to a given situation, one should error on the side of conservativeness. It is strongly recommended a higher supervisor be consulted before any action.
